Kaseya, the software vendor at the center of a mass ransomware attack, was close to fixing the flaw in its software before the notorious REvil gang struck. It’s unclear if REvil somehow figured out that patches were forthcoming, but one Dutch researcher says the gang beat patching efforts in a “final sprint.”
